- 1 package of filo dough
- 2 cups of mixed nuts (walnuts, pistachios)
- 1 cup of melted butter
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Chop the nuts and mix them with cinnamon.
- Butter a baking dish and layer 10 sheets of filo, brushing each with melted butter.
- Spread a layer of the nut mixture over the filo.
- Repeat layers, alternating between filo and nuts, until all ingredients are used.
- Cut the baklava into diamond shapes.
- Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown.
- In a pot, combine sugar, water, and vanilla. Boil for 10 minutes.
- Pour the syrup over the baklava as soon as it comes out of the oven.
- Let it cool before serving.
