  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
  2. Stir in flour, cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  3. Slowly whisk in broth, milk, and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add broccoli and cook until tender, about 10 minutes.
