Instructions

  1. Wash the citrus fruits thoroughly.
  2. Peel the oranges and lemons, making sure to remove as much white pith as possible.
  3. Cut the peels into thin strips.
  4. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil.
  5. Add the citrus peels to the syrup and reduce heat.
  6. Simmer the peels for about 45 minutes, until they are translucent.
  7. Remove the peels and place them on a wire rack to cool.
  8. Once cooled, roll the peels in sugar to coat.
