- 4 large oranges
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- Wash the oranges thoroughly.
- Peel the oranges, removing as much of the white pith as possible.
- Cut the peels into thin strips.
- Boil the peels in water for 10 minutes, then drain.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil.
- Add the peels to the sugar syrup. Simmer for 45 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the peels cool in the syrup.
- Once cool, remove peels and let them dry on a wire rack.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Can be dipped in chocolate for extra flavor.
