A simple and delicious candied orange peel dessert.

Ingredients

  • 4 large oranges
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Wash the oranges thoroughly.
  2. Peel the oranges, removing as much of the white pith as possible.
  3. Cut the peels into thin strips.
  4. Boil the peels in water for 10 minutes, then drain.
  5. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil.
  6. Add the peels to the sugar syrup. Simmer for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and let the peels cool in the syrup.
  8. Once cool, remove peels and let them dry on a wire rack.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container.
  • Can be dipped in chocolate for extra flavor.
