A sweet treat of candied orange peel dipped in chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 3 large oranges
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel the oranges, removing as much white pith as possible.
  2. Cut the peels into strips.
  3. Blanch the peels in boiling water for 10 minutes.
  4. Drain and rinse the peels.
  5. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil.
  6. Add the peels to the syrup and simmer for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove peels and let them cool on a wire rack.
  8. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
  9. Dip each peel in chocolate and place them on parchment paper to set.
  10. Let the chocolate harden before serving.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container.
  • Use fresh oranges for better flavor.
