- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp chai tea concentrate
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, chai tea concentrate, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.
- Flatten slightly with a fork or the bottom of a glass.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- For extra spice, add 1/4 tsp black pepper.
- Replace chai concentrate with 1 tbsp loose chai tea steeped in 2 tbsp hot milk if needed.
