Creamy, cheesy scalloped potatoes baked to perfection. A comforting side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Butter a baking dish and layer half the potato slices.
  3. Sprinkle half the cheese, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg over potatoes.
  4. Repeat layers with remaining potatoes and seasonings.
  5. Pour cream and milk over the layers.
  6. Dot with butter and cover with foil.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove foil, top with remaining cheese, and bake for 15 more minutes until golden.

  • Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
