A creamy and hearty soup that combines the flavors of a classic cheeseburger.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups diced potatoes
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
  3. Stir in chicken broth and potatoes. Bring to a boil, then simmer until potatoes are tender.
  4. In a separate pan, melt butter and whisk in flour to make a roux.
  5. Gradually add milk to the roux, stirring until thickened.
  6. Pour the milk mixture into the soup pot.
  7. Add shredded cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir until cheese melts.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef for a lighter version.
  • Top with extra cheese or crumbled bacon if desired.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
