- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups diced potatoes
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
- Stir in chicken broth and potatoes. Bring to a boil, then simmer until potatoes are tender.
- In a separate pan, melt butter and whisk in flour to make a roux.
- Gradually add milk to the roux, stirring until thickened.
- Pour the milk mixture into the soup pot.
- Add shredded cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir until cheese melts.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef for a lighter version.
- Top with extra cheese or crumbled bacon if desired.
