A simple recipe for making candied orange peel.

  • 4 large oranges
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Wash the oranges thoroughly.
  2. Peel the oranges, making sure to remove as much of the white pith as possible.
  3. Cut the peels into thin strips.
  4. In a pot, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil.
  5. Add the orange peels to the boiling syrup.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for about 45 minutes.
  7. Remove peels and place on a wire rack to cool.
  8. Once cooled, toss the peels in sugar to coat.
  9. Store in an airtight container.
