A simple cheese fondue recipe perfect for beginners.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1 cup of shredded Emmental cheese
  • 1 cup of dry white wine
  • 1 clove of garlic, halved
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon of kirsch (cherry brandy)
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • French bread, cut into cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the garlic clove.
  2. Pour the white wine and lemon juice into the pot and heat over medium heat.
  3. Gradually add the shredded cheeses, stirring continuously until melted.
  4. Mix the cornstarch with kirsch and add to the pot, stirring until smooth.
  5. Season with black pepper to taste.
  6. Serve with bread cubes for dipping.
