- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup strong brewed espresso, cooled
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, espresso, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Use freshly brewed espresso for best results.
- Replace buttermilk with 1 cup milk mixed with 1 tbsp vinegar if needed.
