  • 1 cup navy beans, soaked overnight
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the soaked navy beans.
  2. In a large pot, sauté the onion, carrots, and celery until soft.
  3. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add the ham, navy beans, chicken broth, and bay leaf.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Remove bay leaf before serving.

Notes

  • For faster cooking, use canned navy beans.
  • Adjust seasoning based on your preference.
