- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, mix flour and baking soda. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
- Add vanilla and eggs, mixing well.
- Gradually add flour mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool on sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
- For softer cookies, do not overbake.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
- Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
