A moist and flavorful cake made with Sicilian blood oranges and almonds.

Ingredients

  • 2 Sicilian blood oranges
  • 200g ground almonds
  • 150g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 100g butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease and line a cake tin.
  3. Zest and juice the blood oranges.
  4. Cream the butter and sugar together.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  6. Fold in the ground almonds, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Stir in the orange zest and juice.
  8. Pour the batter into the tin and bake for 40 minutes.
  9. Let the cake cool before serving.
