- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Brown the Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer the sausage mixture to the slow cooker.
- Add crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- Add broken lasagna noodles, stir, and cook for an additional 30 minutes or until noodles are tender.
- Serve with dollops of ricotta, Parmesan, and shredded mozzarella on top.
Notes
- Use spicy Italian sausage for extra heat.
- Substitute ground beef for sausage if preferred.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
