Slow Cooker Pork Carnitas is a flavorful dish made with tender pork cooked in spices.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Brown the pork shoulder on all sides.
  3. Transfer pork to the slow cooker.
  4. Add onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, orange juice, and bay leaves.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  6. Shred the pork with two forks and mix it with the juices.
