- 3 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- Place the sliced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Season the beef roast with salt, pepper, brown sugar, paprika, and cumin.
- Place the beef roast on top of the onion and garlic.
- Pour beef broth over the roast.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
- Shred the beef with two forks and mix with barbecue sauce.
- Serve on buns or as desired.
Notes
- For spicier flavor, add chili powder.
- Use leftovers in tacos or salads.
- Can freeze cooked beef for later use.
