  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine ham hock, white beans, onion, garlic, carrots, celery, and chicken broth.
  2. Add thyme and bay leaf.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
  4. Remove ham hock, shred the meat, and return it to the pot.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve hot.
