A rich and creamy Spanish-style hot chocolate, perfect for cold days or as a dessert.

Ingredients

  • 100g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until warm.
  2. Break the chocolate into small pieces and add to the milk, stirring until melted.
  3. Mix cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold milk to make a slurry.
  4. Add the slurry to the saucepan, stirring continuously until thickened.
  5. Add sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well.
  6. Serve hot in small cups.

  • Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • For extra richness, replace 1/4 cup milk with heavy cream.
