A rich and flavorful butter chicken recipe inspired by steakhouse flavors.

  • 500g boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 can (400g) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, turmeric, chili powder, and cumin for at least 1 hour.
  2. Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Cook onions until soft.
  3. Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add marinated chicken and cook until browned.
  5. Pour in tomato sauce and simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and garnish with cilantro.

Notes

  • For extra richness, add more butter.
  • Serve with naan or rice.
  • Adjust chili powder for desired heat.
