- 1 lb bacon
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions until soft.
- Add brown sugar, vinegar, maple syrup, red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
- Chop the bacon and add to the mixture.
- Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
