- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lb steak (flank, sirloin, or ribeye)
- Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Place steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour marinade over it.
- Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2-4 hours.
- Remove steak from marinade and discard excess marinade.
- Grill or pan-sear steak to your desired doneness.
- Let steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For best results, marinate overnight.
- Do not reuse marinade that has touched raw meat.
- Adjust honey or sugar for desired sweetness.
