Instructions

  1. Heat milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming.
  2. Split the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Add both seeds and pod to the milk (or use vanilla extract).
  3. Stir in sugar and let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and discard the vanilla pod if used.
  5. Brew espresso or strong coffee.
  6. Pour the brewed coffee into a mug, then add the vanilla-infused milk.
  7. Top with whipped cream if desired.
